How to Export App Store Reviews to CSV โ 3 Ways Compared
iOS product managers keep asking the same question on Reddit: where is the export button? There isn't one in App Store Connect. There are three real routes โ the official customerReviews API, manual copy from the dashboard, and a free no-login exporter that hands you a CSV directly. This page compares all three so you can pick in two minutes.

Same data, very different amounts of setup. Prices are all $0 โ the real cost is time and maintenance.
| App Store Connect dashboard | ASC customerReviews API | Free exporter (this page) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Output | On-screen list, copy by hand | JSON you convert to CSV | CSV, direct download |
| Setup | None โ but you must sign in | API key + a script + pagination handling | None โ no login at all |
| Volume | Whatever you are willing to copy | Paginated, up to 200 reviews per request | Whole available history in one file |
| Best for | A quick glance at recent reviews | Teams already scripted against ASC | Everyone else โ one-off or recurring |
The official route: App Store Connect API
Apple does expose reviews programmatically. The endpoint is GET https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/apps/{id}/customerReviews (App Store Connect API 2.0+). Authenticate with an API key generated in App Store Connect โ Users and Access โ Integrations, then request the endpoint with a limit of up to 200 and page through with the cursors in the response. You get structured JSON: star rating, title, body, locale, device, and your own response if you left one.
What you don't get is a file. Converting to CSV is on you โ a dozen lines of Python, plus whichever corner cases your apps surface (empty bodies, emoji encoding, timezone formats). It is the right tool when reviews feed a data pipeline; it is a lot of ceremony when the goal is โa spreadsheet my team can open.โ
Which way should you pick?
- Need a file in the next five minutes โ the free exporter at the top of this page: paste an app link, download the CSV, done.
- Building an internal pipeline โ go official with the customerReviews endpoint; schedule it and own the raw data.
- Keeping history before it scrolls away โ either automated route works; the storefront's version bucketing means old reviews fade from public view, so a CSV archive is the only durable record.
- Want analysis, not just a file โ run the CSV through the review analysis guide or straight into the Review CSV Analyzer.

Is there an official way to export App Store reviews to CSV?
Not a button. The official programmatic route is the App Store Connect API endpoint GET /v1/apps/{id}/customerReviews, which returns JSON (paginated, up to 200 per request) that you convert to CSV yourself. The dashboard lets you read reviews but offers no export. A third-party exporter can output the CSV for you without any developer setup.
Why can I only see reviews for the latest version of my app?
The App Store storefront shows ratings bucketed by version, so reviews attached to older versions stop being prominent once you ship an update. Your full history stays visible in App Store Connect and through the API, which is why exporting to CSV is the reliable way to keep a longitudinal record.
Does the App Store Connect API cost anything?
No โ the API is free with your Apple Developer Program membership. The cost is setup time: you generate an API key, request the reviews endpoint with pagination, and parse JSON into a spreadsheet. Fine for a one-off script; heavier if you just want a file every week.
How do I get Google Play reviews as well?
Google Play has a different official path (monthly CSV reports in the Console, which lag a few days). The free App Review Exporter on this page covers the App Store, and there is a separate guide on downloading Google Play reviews as CSV โ both link below.
